BODY CONFIDENCE
I’m a confident pool swimmer but have never done much sea swimming other than mucking about, body boarding and surf lessons, so having decided to take up the challenge of a daily sea swim, the idea to improve my strokes, set a goal and become more confident in the sea was all part of my new obsession!
I can’t recommend Ella and her 'Body Confidence' sea swim course enough! In just 6 weeks, I’ve learned swim drills to improve my technique and have become more relaxed with my breathing.

I was very satisfied with the quality of Ella's coaching. She is a brilliant teacher, inclusive and takes things at everyone's pace. I learnt a lot about the tides, swimming in the ocean, and even started to learn how to do front crawl too. I loved the mix of 'on-land' and 'in-sea' learning, and meeting the other ladies on the course too.
Ella is also just a lovely person to be around, and has a good calm, positive energy. I really wanted to do this course for some 'me time' and I felt I got some of that especially from the relationships formed with the other swimmers too. I also really valued the support given to me from Clarence House as a subsidy, without which, I wouldn't have been able to do the course, especially after a difficult time of redundancy. I am truly grateful to Ella and Clarence House for giving me the ability to do the course.

Ella delivered a very person-centred course, attending to each swimmer's individual levels of competence and confidence. She uses really effective warm up techniques and takes care of swimmers' safety and well-being both in careful preparation and while in the water. I really recommend her courses and her one to one swimming tuition sessions.

Beginners Front Crawl
I have been very privileged to have a lesson with Ella. I am an experienced sea swimmer , but very slow . In one session she has really changed my stroke so that I feel totally relaxed in the water & have a much better glide. The key for me was to increase my rotation & slow my stroke down which seemed counter-intuitive but has been swim - changing & life -changing!

I turned 60 during lockdown and decided to face my fear of the water and start getting in the ses every day, as a virtual non swimmer... I Loved it beyond reason. A few of my friends recommended Ella as a caring and skilled tutor as I had several minor and panic attacks in the water
so desperately wanted and needed to gain more skill and confidence a open seas.
Ella Is an amazing encouraging patient skilled wild swimming teacher who held my hand, and supported me to begin to master basic swimming skills , I had a block of 6 lessons with Ella and they have frankly change my life I feel much safer and more comfortable smell to join other more proficient swimmers in my daily swims.
I'm putting what Ella taught me into practice, with more confidence and enjoyment, and looking forward to having more lessons with Ella.

I found the whole course structure , delivery and manner in how it was conversed to each and everyone of us brilliant , fun and easy to pick up. Ella ensured with dry land exercises , verbal instructions and demonstrations in the water that you were equipped to feel confident in completing all drills , that put together made front crawl a lot more achievable.
Also the additional support and advice outside of sessions , from questions about equipment to posted videos of the previous sessions drills were absolutely priceless. I would say if you want to enjoy the benefits of open water swimming, whilst developing your front crawl and building your sea confidence , don’t wait get booked on to the course …you won’t regret it

Intermediate Front Crawl
I loved the course with Ella! She was friendly and clear in all her instructions. Ella gave lots of wonderful information, which has been helpful in reading tides and water. Each week was a new focus of swimming crawl so it kept the course fresh and interesting, also helped me to retain the knowledge. I have found my stroke has improved since the course and would definitely recommend anyone who wants to learn about how the body can move more efficiently in the water to attend one of Ella's courses!

It wasn't easy getting up early on cold, dark mornings to get in the sea for the intermediate crawl course, but it was SO worth the effort. I learned something new every session, from how to lengthen and strengthen my stroke to drafting (using another swimmer's slipstream to reduce drag - very exciting!). Most of all, it was great fun. Thank you for your insight and encouragement, Ella.

A completely brilliant course to learn the basics of crawl for the open water.
