Swim around St Michael’s Mount
This year, Wild Edge Swim is running guided swims around St Michael’s Mount in July, August and September, when the sea is at its warmest.
The opportunity to swim around this iconic landmark will be high on any swimmer’s bucket list. Accompanied by trained open-water swimming specialists, you will be guided around the island, leaving you free to relax and enjoy the experience from the unique perspective of the sea.
To ensure optimum sea, tide and weather conditions, I will announce the guided swim dates on my website and social media three days before each swim takes place. Keep your eyes peeled on INSTAGRAM: and FACEBOOK, so you don’t miss the chance to book your place on this very special swim experience.
per person, for a group of 4-6 people
per person, for a group of 7-12 people
Trip length in total is 90 minutes, if not a little faster for some swimmers.
The length of this swim varies depending on the tide time and the participants’ previous swimming experiences.
In order to enable everyone in the group to swim at a comfortable pace without being held back or feeling under pressure to catch up, I will separate swimmers into two groups, based on ability and efficiency.
What it costs
Depending on the size of the group there are two rates:
4-6 people: £40 per person;
7-12 people: £34 per person.
Sea swimming experience:
You need to be able to swim 2.4 km/1.5 miles comfortably in the sea, and have done so previously on several occasions. You must also be accustomed to spending at least 90 minutes in the sea in UK waters.
A wetsuit, goggles, swim cap and tow float must be worn. Swim fins are a useful aid for this course but are optional if you are on a budget or have lower back issues.
